Karachi: Pakistani horror-thriller Deemak is set to hit cinemas this Eid al-Azha, bringing a dark twist to the usually romance-heavy holiday box office. Directed by Rafay Rashdi and written by debut screenwriter Ayesha Muzaffar, the film explores themes of possession, psychological manipulation, and black magic.
The lead cast includes Faysal Quraishi, Sonya Hussyn, and Samina Peerzada, whose intense roles have already sparked buzz online. At a promotional event held in Lahore on May 25, 2025, the trio engaged fans and media, and their characters quickly trended on social media.
The trailer hints at a disturbing family dynamic, where Peerzada’s character may be using supernatural means to control her son, played by Quraishi, and sabotage his marriage.
Though their parts remain undisclosed, Bushra Ansari, Javed Sheikh, and Saman Ansari's supporting roles add to the film’s mystery.
Releasing alongside the much-anticipated romantic comedy Love Guru, starring Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed, Deemak offers a bold alternative for audiences seeking psychological depth and eerie thrills this festive season.
